Diary Entry 29
I recently did my second shoot for my music video. The shoot went smoothly and quickly, which is mainly due to my storyboards I completed before shooting. These storyboards allowed me to be well organised and precise when instructing my actor. Doing a second shoot was extremely useful as it gave me a much wider range of camera shots and makes the video much more interesting for the viewer.
I have also input this new footage in to my music video on Premiere and I am continuing to edit it and gain feedback in order to make it the best it can be.

Diary Entry 26
I have recently been planning my digipak and magazine advert. I have done a photo shoot with my actress from my music video. I asked her to wear appropriate clothes which would conform to the genre of indie/rock. I used the same props from my music video in a lot of the images to create continuity. I am continuing to edit my music video while completing these tasks.

Diary Entry 25
I have recently completed the planning task 'Alterations Made Along the Way'. This was a very interesting task because it made me see how much my ideas and concepts have changed since the beginning of the course.
I'm currently finishing off all the planning tasks, because I was still working through the planning tasks when I shot my music video. Therefore, I am completing a few things backwards because I could not complete some before I shot the video. I am also still editing my music video.
I also completed the task 'Analysis of Song Lyrics' for the song I have chosen, Yellow Light by Of Monsters and Men.

Diary Entry 24
Lately I have been gathering all my footage from my music video and editing it in Adobe Premiere. I had a few difficulties working with CS3 so I have been using CS6 to edit it. I have found this really fun and exciting because I am beginning to see what my music video will look like. I am thinking about possibly having to do another shoot though because some feedback I have received from other media students suggests something may be missing from my music video such as a performance section because my video at the moment is all narrative.

Diary Entry 23
Recently I have been creating various mood boards for my audience and for my music video. I begun creating the music video mood board quite early on in the process of my music video, and it helped inspire me when looking for locations for shooting, as well as costume planning and key props I wanted to include.
I also created an audience mood board, with images of things I believe my indie/rock audience would be interested in. This type of task always helps me think about my audience when doing a piece of work for music video, because I need to be able to appeal to my target audience to make it as realistic as possible.

Diary Entry 22
Recently I have being having to go through some of my research tasks and re-do them, as there was a problem with several of my documents and prezi's and they did not save. This has been very inconvenient and time-consuming, however I am doing it as quickly as possible so not to get far behind. In order to prevent this from happening again, I will try and switch the prezi layout to its' old format, as I had much less trouble saving files when I used this one.
I also shot my music video recently, so I uploaded completed documents I made in preparation, such as the 'shot list', storyboards and risk assessment. This definitely helped me be more prepared for the shoot, as it allowed me to manage my time effectively because I knew what I was doing and what order this needed to be done in.

Diary Entry 21
I have just completed the task 'Analysis Of Music Videos From The Same Genre'. My genre is indie/rock therefore I investigated several indie/rock music videos. This task was very helpful as it exposed me to key conventions used in indie/rock music videos, such as presenting social issues and using a main narrative for the music video. I presented this task in the form of a Prezi, as I knew I could use music videos straight from YouTube and input them in to my Prezi file.
I also completed the tasks 'Music Theory' and 'Analysis of Bands/Artists Magazine Adverts'. Both tasks were extremely useful and I learn a lot from them in regard to what the key conventions of a music video is, and what I could use for my magazine advert. Analysing magazine adverts was very helpful because it gave me a few ideas about how I wanted my magazine advert to look, and also showed me how I did not want it to look. The task also made me realise that I had to still stick to my indie/rock genre to make all my print work and video work consistent and make my audience interested with every piece of work I have.

Diary Entry 20
Recently I have been completing several tasks. These included Audience Research, Shot List and Equipment Borrowing Form. I uploaded the shot list and equipment borrowing form shortly after shooting my music video. The shot list was particularly helpful as it allowed me to be much more organised about which shots I knew I wanted to use and which shots I didn't. It also allowed me to think about when I would need to shoot each shot and therefore manage my time effectively.
The audience research task was very interesting as it allowed me to think more carefully about what my audience would be interested in. I conducted a stereotypical audience profile and some key psychographics which helped influence me about things I wanted in my music video, such as costume. I knew from doing this research that skinny jeans and casual clothes were appropriate in attracting my target audience. I displayed this research in a PowerPoint document and then uploaded it on slideshare to present it on my blog.

Diary Entry 16
I recently completed the research task 'Research into the relevant music genre'. In my case, this was the genre of indie/rock. During this task, I researched the kind of fashion artists in this genre tend to wear, as well as their appearance in their music videos. I also investigated the props these artists use in their music videos. I also went on to state how prominent social issues tend to be in indie/rock music videos. I found out that many music videos, such as Arcade Fire's 'The Suburbs' often have an underlying social issues which is being illustrated to the audience to make them more aware.
This task was very helpful in exposing me to the typical codes and conventions included in indie/rock music videos. It also gave me ideas for my own music video, such as the decision I made to make my actor wear fairly casual clothes because this would fit in with the indie/rock genre.

Diary Entry 15
Recently I have been completing several research tasks including research in to a director I would want to use if I could. I discovered Ethan Lader, who I admire as a music video director. I found it interesting looking at his work and took some inspiration from it and found ways of making sure my video looks as professional and realistic as it can be.

Diary Entry 12
Recently I have been completing research for my music video, in particular research for a location. I travelled to Tottenham Court Road in Central London to scout locations however decided it would be too busy to shoot there, and also there was no real pieces of nature surrounding the area, which I really want to include in my music video.
So, I then started investigating other locations and came across South Bank in Central London. I think a Central London location would be great for my music video, because in London there is such variety, visually, there are beautiful parks as well as tall buildings and architecture.
Also, I still want to include people wearing t-shirts with the lyrics on, and the main lyric to include will be 'Marchin' On' because I'm thinking about using One Republic's song 'Marchin' On'. i have decided that if I used this key lyric I won't need many people to wear them, and thus it will be cheaper. I think I'm going to use about 3 or 4 people for this task.

Diary Entry 11
Today I have been continuing with my work on research into existing music labels. Unfortunately this prezi and another prezi I have done could not save so in order to keep my work I had to persevere and put them in to new prezi's, which was a setback because this technical difficulty cost my time I could have spent continuing and improving my work.
